April is National Child Abuse and Prevention Month.
You probably already know that I'm a Recreational Therapist for children who've suffered abuse.
I discovered a neat foundation that I want to tell you about today:
The Superhero Foundation is a group that advoates for protecting and keeping children safe.
Their motto is that all children need a hero, but children who've been abused need a Superhero.
You can be one.
The Pittsburg, PA Superhero Foundation is having a 1K or 5K walk or run.
They're raising money to benefit (the (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Allegheny County).
Run/Walk participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero!
There will be a contest for best dressed!
Runners/Walkers are encouraged to solicit donatons from friends & family!
To donate online, go to Facebook and search for “Be a Superhero - Help Fight Child Abuse” under causes.
