Anya Kamentz (2016, July 5) had written an article that was featured at NPR titled: how to raise brilliant children, according to science. read more books

I’m a big fan of reading book!
Heather Tipton (2015, Nov. 25) had written an article titled “5 ways to read more books,” that was featured at success.com.
I thought recreational therapists might want to read this article:

Want your child to be a problem-solver?

Rebecca Eanes had written an interesting article titled, “Parenting: how to raise a problem-solver,” that is featured online at CreativeChild.com.
I provide services for children who often lack problem-solving skills (in regards to regulation emotions, and interacting with others).

are you growing luckier?

Dear Fellow Recreational Therapist:

Growing luckier?

Let me explain.

Four-leaf clovers are associated with good luck.

But what if you could really grow your luck?

The good news is:

You can grow luckier!

It’s true.

Over 100 years ago, Louis Pasteur said:

Chance favors only the prepared mind.

In other words:

Preparing now will increase your odds of good luck in the future.

You’re proof that this phenomenon works.

Getting to where you are today in your career was no accidental luck.

You’ve done a lot of preparation, such as:

·         Completing your undergraduate course work
·         Completing your practicum and internship trainings
·         Studying and passing your certification exam
·         Meeting other requirements.

And as a result, your preparation increased your odds of getting a job in our profession.

Today, I’m inviting you to grow your luck by continuing your education.

My favorite motivational speaker, the late Jim Rohn often said:

The book you don’t read won’t help.

My self-study CEU program consist of three easy-steps:
1.)    Register for a course
2.)    Read a book
3.)    Pass an online test
You’ll be able to instantly print out your certificate of completion.
However, it isn’t about the certificate.
It is about increasing your:
·         Knowledge
·         Skills
·         Wisdom
·         Know-how
·         Preparedness
·         And of course luck.
Grow yourself now. Sign-up for a new self-study CEU course at my program link here:

12 books that everyone should read according to a Neuroscientist

Mikaela is one of my best friends from graduate school. I had taken classes with her at Lindsey Wilson College while we were both working on our Master of Education in counseling.
Mikaela is a great friend and a great resource.
She posts many interesting things on her facebook and her pinterest page.
Today, my friend introduced me to a link that includes 12 books that everyone should read according to neuroscientist Sam Harris.
I regret to say that I haven’t read any of the books that Mr. Harris had recommended, but I’ll do a quick amazon search to read the reviews at the least.
I do think that reading and learning is a key to success.
