Helping kids with anxiety
Darla Hernadez had posted a great story about a psychologist, Margaret Jessop in South Bend.
Jessop has created a really neat program to help children who suffer from anxiety disorders.
Her program appears to provide:

Jessop has created a really neat program to help children who suffer from anxiety disorders.
Her program appears to provide:
- psycho-education about the brain and how it works
- relaxation skills: like deep breathing and imagination, and
- mindfulness meditation.
I sure hope Jessop puts this information in a book.

heavy blankets help with anxiety
My good friend Connie (A CTRS) who is also licensed as an Occupational Therapist in West Virginia had posted a really neat article on fb:
Sleeping with weighted blankets help with insomnia and anxiety study finds.
I'll disclose here at my blog that I have anxiety and depression.
I stayed at my parent's house in little Beckley, West Virginia over Christmas 2015.
Their guest room has a really heavy blanket.
I realize that I miss that blanket. laugh aloud.
Here is a link to the study:

what to say to a child with anxiety
Hello and thanks for reading my RT blog.
I'm going to disclose that I have generalized anxiety disorder.
As a child, I had these "panic attacks" from time to time and I didn't know how to describe what I was experiencing.
I'd feel real scared if my parents were out for too long.
Sometimes, I'd call my grandmother or aunt in a tearful panic claiming my parents might not come back.
It was embarrassing once my parents came back. people poked fun at it.
Here is an article on what to say to a child with anxiety:
