People I've seen @ ATRA

I’ve seen many people at the 2011 American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) conference.

I’ve been very pleased to have seen the following individuals:

David Austin, Tim Passmore, Thom Skalko, Peg Connolly, Ray West, Bob Riley, Michael Sutherland, Lisa Morgan Mary Ann Aquardro.

I also saw my former internship supervisor Alane Thomas (an ATRA Lifetime Professional Member). She was my supervisor at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. I was shocked to see her here, but I shouldn’t have been. I laughed that I had to come all the way to Indianapolis to catch up with her. We’re both still in Huntington.

Tomorrow, Tue. 20, 2011, I plan to attend:

• Pediatric Pain Rehab – I have a long-term goal of working with pediatrics in rehab.


• Recreational Therapy (RT) In Schools – I work at a residential setting with an on-campus school, so I thought it would be beneficial to attend this.


• Team Building for Offenders. I provide empathy training and social skills training and I thought I might gain some useful information from this training.

I think these three courses would be insightful.
