Charles Killingsworth sent this email via the ATRA List-Serv Today:
Hi! Just want to give as many of you as possible a heads-up that there MAY be a TR teaching position here at Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Kansas) within the next year. Initially and for 1-2 years, it may be an Instructor level position that could change to a full-time tenure-track position. The Recreation Degree program is COAPRT Accredited with a TR Option at this time and the plan is to continue with both. When more detailed in formation is available, we will keep you posted on the position.
It is my plan to ease away from teaching full time through what is called "phased retirement" - I am negotiating with the PSU Administration to possibly teach 3-4 On-line courses after this Academic Year for a year or two. We (my wife and I) plan to move to Southern Calif. next July/Aug. and I would teach a couple of classes from there as my phased retirement teaching load.
I suggest that anyone interested in the possibility of the potential position should become familiar with PSU, the Dept. (Health, Human Performance, and Recreation) and our Recreation Degree program.
