Maria Gomes Valentim is a 114-year-old woman from Brazil and she is now the world's oldest person.
She was born in 1896. She has lived in the last part of 1800s, all of the 1900s, and the early parts of the 2000s. Wow.
I laughed aloud when I read that her grand-daughter is 63. It took me a little while to realize that she would be 63. She married onc back in 1913. Her husband Joao passed away in 1946. They only had one son.
However, she has four frandchildren, seven greatgrand-children and five great-great grandchildren.
