Have you heard of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's Flow Theory?
I read an interesting article on CNN about a school that doesn’t have grade levels.
Each kid is on her (or his) own level in school. They don’t progress to the next level until they earn a 75% or higher in a section.
The benefits sound a lot like Flow Theory.
A kid won’t be bored working on something that is too each for them.
Other kids won’t be frustrated working on something that is too difficult for them.
Sounds like FLOW, huh?
Plus the principal reported that they’ve had a decrease in discipline problems.
I’d imagine that is because the students are in the FLOW.
