I had taken a leisure and aging course during graduate school at Indiana University.
There was a strong likelihood that people in the human services field would be working with the elderly because of the number of baby-boomers.
I did my undergraduate training with the elderly at nursing homes and some who were in a skilled nursing facility.
I thought I would work the elderly for sure, but my first job offer was working with kids (who have abuse-reactive needs). I was only 22 at the time. I've grown a lot over the years.
