Temple University positions

This is just a friendly reminder that there are two full-time positions for recreational therapists at Temple University.  

The first is a half clinical/half research position. Half of the duties involve delivering recreational therapy services to individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. The therapist will deliver community-based services aimed at increasing independent participation in community-based recreation. The other half of the position is working on ongoing research projects with the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities. The TU Collaborative is a NIDRR funded research center that aims to broaden the understanding of community integration and to improve opportunities for individuals with psychiatric disabilities to participate more fully in community life.  The second is a full time clinical position. The Recreational Therapist will be responsible for facilitating the Independence through Community Access and Navigation intervention with adults diagnosed with a psychiatric disability. Primary responsibilities include conducting assessments, co-developing treatment plans with individual clients, implementing the intervention, documenting consumer outcomes, and eventual internship supervision. Additionally, this individual will facilitate a weekly meeting with a co-recreational therapist to problem solve issues that may occur during the facilitation of the intervention. Other duties include documenting treatment responsibilities, self-evaluating services, identifying and developing resources to assist consumers in accessing recreational resources within the community, and developing strategies to help consumers track independent progress.  Both positions are grant funded and are offered through the TU Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Temple University.
