I've been a CTRS for 10 years.

I received my Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentials in the mail today.

I have held this credential for ten years now. I had way more continuing education units than I needed for the second 5-year certification cycle.

NCTRC included a handout with information on continuing education. Here is a link to their main page with the same document, which outlines ways a person can earn continuing education credits for re-certification. http://www.nctrc.org/documents/NCTRCContEd013110.pdf

P.S. NCTRC sent me a real nice “CTRS” lapel-pin. However, my place of employment (behavioral/ mental health) does not allow these items for safety reasons. I am glad to have it. Not sure when I’ll ever wear it.
