I (Danny Pettry) provide services for children at a
psychiatric residential treatment facility (part of a larger hospital system) in
West Virginia for children and adolescents with various needs.
The Heroes for Higher BatMan is from the Huntington, West
Virginia area.
BatMan has been coming to see our children once a month to talk
about character lessons for over a year. Some of his talks are on: responsibility, teamwork, fairness,
forgiving, and other traits. These traits are a lot like my children's book, Building Character.
Here are some picture of BatMan that were taken by our unit social worker, Annie Lane
You may have heard that the Baltimore BatMan had been killed
in an automobile accident. That Baltimore BatMan was on his way back home after
talking to some kids in West Virginia.
The Huntington (Heroes for Higher) BatMan had told us that
he was going to cover all of the Baltimore BatMan’s visits to Children Hospitals
and other events.
The story made it to the Real Stan Lee blog that you can
read here:
