Therapeutic Outcomes for Using Dogs as a Pet Therapy Approach
- TR Knowledge Area: Practice of TR/ RT: Facilitation Techniques and Approaches
Five (5) Clock Hours or (0.5) CEUs. Notice ten (10) Clock Hours = 1.0 CEU
- Course Goal:
Participant to increase awareness of the benefits of using dogs as an approach in pet therapy programs.
- Course Objective:
Participant will be able to identify the benefits of using dogs as a facilitation technique as evidenced by scoring at least a 70% score or better on a 10-question multiple-exam test based on required reading before the end of a one-year timeframe. Participant can re-take exam if needed.
- Course Requirements:
Read Saskon (2007) Paws and Effects: The Healing Benefits of Dogs. Pass the 10-question multiple-choice exam with a 70% or better within one-year of registration
