Activity Directory
Activities Director: The nursing home department of Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center seeks a full-time Activities Director. A successful applicant should be a Certified Activity Professional but the facility will also consider a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (registered), or Occupational Assistant (certified), Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral sciences. Candidate should have successfully completed an accredited training course for activity professionals. At least one year experience in providing activity programming in a long term care facility is required. Individual will be responsible for the planning and implementation of activities for nursing home residents and will design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and improve daily living skills. Candidate will be expected to provide an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the individual interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident and must be able to effectively supervise, lead and support the activities staff. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Some weekend and holiday work will be required.
