Teens: lacking sleep

Do you provide services for teens?

There is a plan to start school at a later time during the day.

Students who started school at a later time were less likely to be depressed, less likely to use drugs, and even less car wrecks.

What do you think about those benefits for starting school at a later time?

Based on my experiences, I felt better when I started school at a later time period when I was a child and teen. We often had "snow days," here in the Appalachian Mountains. Snow makes travel difficult. It is especially difficult in the mountains because you might not make it up a steep hill with iced roads or heavy snow. It is also difficult if you're sliding down a mountainous hill. A four-wheel drive vehicle won't stop sliding.

I got off track. The real purpose of telling you about snow days here was to let you know that we sometimes had a two-hour delay. Based on my experiences, I felt like I had a brighter mood, was more well-rested, more social and friendly, and more eager to read and learn during days we had a two-hour delay.
