Global Medical Relief Fund

I read a story about a young boy in Syria who was injured. I found the story sad, but was amazed at how cheerful the boy's affact was in the video. he was smiling despite having recently lost a leg. He didn't appear sad. However, his older 21-year-old brother said that the boy does have bad daydreams.

CNN reported that the Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF) is a small U.S. nongovernmental organization that is dedicated to helping children badly wounded in disasters and war zones.

I'm very pleased to know about this relief fund.

It said that:GMRF takes care of children's follow-up prosthetics and physical therapy until they reach the age of 21.That is very pleasing to know, too.

I wonder if the children receive any Recreational Therapy or Counseling? I would imagine the boy told in the story could benefit from these services, too. I imagine funding is limited.

I'd like to see a few RTs get together and create some type of charity or project to help provide recreational therapy services via GMRF.
