I’ve been sending out an e-newsletter for recreational therapists and allied professionals since 2005. My list has grown to several hundred subscribers. There are over 1,000 followers between the e-newsletter, myspace, facebook, twitter, and this blogspot.
“Careers” is often the most clicked link in my e-newsletter.
I’d love to know more about the people seeking careers in the field. Are they young graduates? Are they professionals who are seeking better opportunities? Who are they? I’ll have to prepare a survey for my next e-newsletter.
I am aware that the economy is supposedly trying to come out of a recession. I’ve heard that new graduates are having a difficult time finding a job. I’m not certain how many people graduating with degrees in recreational therapy are having a difficult time finding a job.
I see postings quite a bit; however, they are all across the United States (and sometimes Canada). I imagine a person who is willing to re-locate to a different area would have a better opportunity at finding a position.
I read an article at yahoo by Tara Weiss (for Forbes.com) with tips for graduates seeking a job.
